This is in the same line as the previous post on “Getting Things Done” and 43 folders.
If you can, take about 45 min and watch this video – http://www.43folders.com/2007/07/25/merlins-inbox-zero-talk. Merlin is not only a good presenter but gave me much to think about. After watching this I took my inbox from 600 unread emails to 2. I’m keeping it lower than before (50-100) and can get it to zero a few times a month.
I also found his PowerPoint slides interesting. At first blush I hated them because they were so sparse but having checked out a book recommendation from Merlin, Presentation Zen, I am beginning to appreciate them a bit more.
If you have not seen it, consider finding “Getting Things Done” in your local bookstore.
It is fantastic! I am taking much of the advice to heart in getting my home office under control. In the same vein, there is a website 43 folders that is very helpful. The 43 folders piece is from the GTD book and will make more sense in context.
